Men’s Thong Underwear for Everyday Wear: Comfort, Support, and What to Look For

Men’s Thong Underwear for Everyday Wear

I see many men posting online who are curious about men’s thong underwear. The primary concerns are usually comfort and fit, with many asking if thongs are comfortable for everyday wear. The other major concern centers on the perceived social stigma of wearing men’s thong underwear. In this post, we’ll address these concerns and will share what to look for in a thong, which men’s thongs are the most comfortable for daily wear, and will address some concerns about perceptions surrounding men’s thong underwear.

Can Men Really Wear Thongs Every Day?

Can men really wear thongs every day? Of course! Personally, I wear a thong almost every day, and so do many others. Thongs are incredibly comfortable, practical, and potentially sexy. A thong that fits properly is barely noticeable and extremely comfortable, and a supportive moisture wicking thong is perfect for the gym. With so many brands and styles to choose from nowadays, there’s no reason why anyone who is curious about wearing a thong can’t find one that fits their physique and lifestyle.

What Makes a Men’s Thong Comfortable for Daily Use

The first thing I look for that indicates a thong will likely be comfortable is the fabric. For me, a light moisture wicking micro modal blend or a soft cotton blend is usually the most comfortable, but each person will need to try some different thongs to see what works for them. I also find that a thong with a thin strap in the back will be more comfortable, though I have to admit that I do find a cheeky thong to be fun to wear as feeling the extra fabric can feel sexy, but for all day comfort, a thin strap is preferable. A supportive front pouch is very helpful regardless of one’s size. One of the great advantages of men’s thong underwear is the front support as it allows for less movement and more breathability. Men’s thongs such as those from Jockey or Jack Adams excel in this area.

Common Mistakes That Make Men’s Thongs Uncomfortable

The most common mistake that can make men’s thong underwear uncomfortable is choosing the wrong size. I’ve found many size charts on manufacturer websites to be inaccurate, often advising one size too small. Check out our post on selecting the best thong size. In short, choose the same size you normally wear in all other underwear styles when selecting your thong. Most thong size charts guide me toward a size medium based on my waist measurements, yet I always find that sizing up to a large is the comfort sweet spot for me. Also select a thong with an appropriately sized front pouch. I’m of average size in the front, so most thongs work perfectly fine for me in that regard, but someone who is well endowed may want to opt for a larger front pouch. You should also be mindful of the fabric. If you know that synthetic fabrics are uncomfortable against your skin, use this knowledge to select a more natural fabric for greater comfort.

Who Everyday Men’s Thongs Are (and Aren’t) For

I personally think that men’s thong underwear is for all guys, but some may have more success than others. For men who are active, move around a lot, and are in good physical shape, men’s thong underwear is perfect. Thongs are the most comfortable and supportive underwear for anyone who is very physically active and for this reason alone, I’m surprised that more men aren’t wearing thongs. And for men who workout or run a lot, a thong is perfect. I’m both active and work in an office environment, and I find that whether I’m being active or sitting at my desk, a thong is incredibly comfortable.

On the other hand, if you work in a field in which you’ll find yourself changing in front of coworkers, you may choose to save thongs for your days off or for the gym. It’s understandable to not want to open the door to a discussion about underwear, and to choose to wear more traditional underwear styles in a locker room environment. For someone who is very self-conscious or lacking in self-confidence, wearing a thong may be a bit uncomfortable. However, this sense of being self-conscious goes away very quickly once you begin wearing thong underwear regularly. I also find that thongs are incredibly comfortable under a suit or office attire, and it’s a relief to wear a style of underwear that doesn’t bunch up while sitting for long periods of time.

Final Thoughts: Is a Thong Right for Your Daily Routine?

In my opinion, a thong is right for nearly anyone’s daily routine. A comfortable and properly fitted thong is incredibly comfortable for anyone who is active, sitting for long periods of time, or who needs more freedom of movement. If you often go to the gym after work or enjoy going on runs, a thong is perfect. In fact, I can’t think of any situation in which a thong isn’t the most comfortable style of underwear. However, it’s entirely possible to discover that a thong simply doesn’t work with your body type, and that’s perfectly fine. But nowadays, there are so many variations of thongs as well as even g-string options that it’s highly unlikely for there not to be a thong to suit everyone’s needs. But there are some people who never get used to the feeling of the strip of fabric running between their butt cheeks, and that’s perfectly fine. But I’d still encourage anyone who is curious about wearing a thong to give it a try for long enough to truly know if they like it, and that can often mean trying at least three or four different thongs over a period of daily thong wearing for at least several weeks. I believe that most people who do this will find that men’s thong underwear can be incredibly comfortable and practical to wear regularly.
