There are a lot of misconceptions about men’s thong underwear, and I suspect that this often gets in the way of many men trying thongs as a viable alternative to more traditional styles. As a regular thong wearer myself, I’ve given these myths a lot of thought over the years and I plan to debunk several of those myths here in this post.
Men’s Thongs Are Only Worn By Male Strippers
While thongs are often worn by male strippers, there’s no reason why strippers are the only men who are permitted to wear them. There’s a reason why so many male strippers wear thongs. The women who come to see their shows find them to be sexy. While the issue of sexiness is rather nuanced with regard to male thongs, there’s no reason why many women wouldn’t find their male partner to be sexy in a thong too. After all, mine does! It would certainly help to choose a thong that’s not over the top with regard to style, and there are plenty of more low key conservative options available. But there’s no reason why the popularity of thong underwear with male strippers should be a reason not to wear a thong as part of one’s everyday attire.
Thongs Are Uncomfortable
I addressed this issue in another post. Men’s thongs are actually extremely comfortable if you take the time to choose the proper size, fabric, and brand. It can take some experimenting, and it can also take some time to adjust to the feeling of wearing a thong. That said, once you go through this process, thongs are some of the most comfortable underwear a man can wear. They offer far more support in the front than any of the most supportive boxer briefs I’ve tried, they provide a lot of freedom of movement, and they’re far more breathable than other styles of underwear.
Men’s Thongs Are Less Masculine
I can understand why some people might think this given that thong underwear has long been associated with women’s underwear, so for some people men’s thongs can have a stigma attached to them. But the fact remains that there are so many companies that manufacture men’s thong underwear that the issue of masculinity can hardly be considered a factor any longer. With so many male athletes now including thong underwear in their attire for working out and even daily wear, it’s just not an issue. Male dancers, gymnasts, acrobats, and actors have long worn thongs precisely for the aforementioned front support and freedom of movement. What shouldn’t other men have the benefit of wearing thongs too?
Summary
In short, given how much our society has evolved in attitudes toward clothing, there’s no reason for a man to not consider thong underwear unless he simply has no interest. Men’s thongs are comfortable, practical, and sexy. I’d encourage any man who is curious about thongs to give them a try and to forget about what anyone thinks. In reality, I truly doubt that anyone even cares what style of underwear you’re wearing!
