Why I Find Some Women’s Thongs So Comfortable

When I first tried a women’s thong, I was mostly curious. I had already become comfortable wearing men’s thongs, but I kept wondering what women’s versions were actually like. The designs looked different, the fabrics often seemed softer, and there was an enormous variety of styles available. Eventually, curiosity won out, and I decided to try a few.

I was surprised by just how much I liked them.

For me, there was something undeniably exciting about putting on a women’s thong for the first time. At the same time, what really caught me off guard was how comfortable some of them were. I had expected the experience to be primarily about novelty. Instead, I discovered that some women’s thongs are actually more comfortable than many of the men’s thongs I had tried.

The “Second Skin” Feeling

There is one significant difference that becomes apparent pretty quickly: women’s thongs generally aren’t designed with the same amount of front support as men’s thongs, and that can take some getting used to.

But once I found styles and sizes that worked for me, I discovered another advantage. Some women’s thongs fit so closely and naturally that they almost feel like a second skin. There can be so little material that I sometimes forget I’m wearing underwear at all.

That sensation is very different from wearing traditional men’s underwear. There isn’t much fabric to bunch up, and there is nothing extra to get in the way. When the fit is right, the thong simply seems to disappear.

And that’s part of what makes a well-designed thong so interesting. Instead of feeling like I’m wearing a garment, it can feel almost as though the garment isn’t there.

The Reaction From Women Has Been Mixed

Of course, wearing women’s underwear as a man isn’t something every woman is going to appreciate.

I’ve had mixed reactions from various girlfriends over the years. Some weren’t particularly interested in the idea, while others found it amusing or simply didn’t understand why I wanted to wear them.

But I’ve also had two girlfriends who absolutely loved seeing me in thong panties.

One of them especially enjoyed it. On occasion, she would actually tell me to wear thong panties when we went out for the evening or when we were going to sleep. There was something fun about having her make that choice for me, particularly because she knew that I enjoyed wearing them.

That experience also showed me that a thong can become about more than just underwear.

When Underwear Becomes Part of the Relationship

For couples who enjoy playing around with dominance and submission, wearing a women’s thong can take on an entirely different dimension.

There’s something inherently playful about having your partner tell you what underwear to wear. The fact that it’s a women’s thong can add another layer to the experience, particularly if it’s outside what you would normally choose for yourself.

And it doesn’t necessarily have to be a serious or elaborate power-exchange dynamic.

Sometimes it’s simply fun.

A woman might not be particularly crazy about the look of her boyfriend or husband wearing a women’s thong, but she might still find the idea of making him wear one amusing and quirky. It can become a little private joke between the two of you—a playful way of stepping outside your normal routines.

For couples who enjoy experimenting with dominance and submission, it can also be a surprisingly easy way to introduce a little more of that dynamic into everyday life.

The Secret Under My Clothes

One of my favorite things about wearing a thong is something that has nothing to do with anyone else seeing it.

I enjoy wearing one underneath my regular clothes when I’m out in public.

Nobody looking at me would have any reason to know what I’m wearing underneath my pants. I can be walking around, shopping, having dinner, or spending an evening out while knowing that I’m wearing something completely different from what most people would probably expect.

It’s my little secret.

And when I’m with a partner who knows what I’m wearing, it becomes our little secret instead.

There’s something surprisingly fun about that. The underwear becomes a private connection between us that nobody else can see. My partner knows what I’m wearing, I know she knows, and everyone else is completely oblivious.

Finding Men’s Thongs With a Similar Feel

If you’re interested in the sensation of women’s thongs but aren’t quite ready to make the leap, there are men’s brands that produce styles with a very similar minimalist feel.

I’ve found that many of the thongs from BodyAware, Intymen, and Feel can provide some of that same close-fitting, barely-there sensation.

They don’t necessarily look exactly like women’s thong panties, and they can provide somewhat more front support, but some styles get remarkably close to the same feeling.

For me, that’s part of what makes experimenting with different styles worthwhile. There isn’t one universal definition of what a comfortable thong feels like. Different cuts, fabrics, waistbands, and constructions can produce dramatically different experiences.

Why I Think It’s Worth Trying

Ultimately, I recommend trying a women’s thong for one simple reason:

Why not?

If you’re already comfortable wearing thongs, there’s very little reason not to experiment with different styles and see what works for you. You might discover that you really enjoy the way a particular women’s thong fits.

You might also discover something about yourself in the process.

For some people, it can simply be a fun way to be playful with their underwear. For couples, it can introduce a quirky new element into the relationship. For couples who enjoy power exchange, it can be a playful way to explore submission. And even if none of those things appeal to you, trying a women’s thong can give you an appreciation for just how good a well-made thong can feel.

Women’s thongs have benefited from decades of development in design, fabrics, construction, and styling. There is an enormous variety to choose from, and the women’s underwear market has had a lot more time to refine the thong than the men’s underwear market has.

That makes women’s thongs an interesting benchmark.

If you want to understand what a truly well-designed thong can feel like, trying a few women’s styles can be an education. You may discover that the best thong you’ve ever worn wasn’t necessarily designed with you in mind.

And that’s okay.

At the end of the day, underwear is underwear. If something fits well, feels good, and makes you happy, I don’t think the label on the package needs to matter quite as much as we sometimes assume it does.

Sometimes the best way to find out what you like is simply to be curious enough to try something new.
