Are Men’s Thongs Comfortable? The Truth Behind the Fit.

I’ve been wearing men’s thong underwear for quite some time and have seen quite a bit of evolution over time with regard to fit. The first men’s thongs I wore felt sexy to wear, but would become uncomfortable within a few hours due to improper fit, material that would chafe, or other reasons. I’ve seen drastic improvements over the years and nowadays, many larger and more respected brands such as Jockey, Jack Adams, Emporio Armani, and others have perfected the art of the male thong to the point where many higher end men’s thong underwear rivals more traditional styles with regard to comfort. Most of the time, I prefer to wear a thong specifically for comfort.

What makes a thong comfortable?

While feeling a thin piece of fabric running between your butt cheeks while wearing a garment that is considered comfortable may seem counterintuitive, men’s thongs can actually be extremely comfortable. The primary reason why I consider men’s thongs to be comfortable is the amount of support they offer in the front pouch. Even most high end boxer briefs which are marketed as offering extra support don’t truly deliver on that promise. I often find my “package” slipping to one side of the other, or becoming bunched up. They still also allow for more perspiration and heat with a lot of movement, which can lead to chafing and friction. A thong will often provide excellent support for the front package, breathability, and prevention of chafing.

Due to having less fabric, wearing a thong is about as close as it gets to feeling like you’re not wearing any underwear at all. This allows for more freedom of movement, a more comfortable fit for your pants, more breathability, and feeling less restricted.

As for that piece of fabric in the back, a properly fitting thong is actually barely noticeable, if at all. I find that when wearing a thong that fits well, noticing the fabric between my butt cheeks occasionally throughout the day just reminds me of how sexy it feels to wear a thong, and isn’t a source of discomfort at all. After a while, it feels more supportive and ceases to be uncomfortable. I find that by sizing up whenever in doubt, it enables the “thong” part of the thong to sit very easily and comfortably in place and I barely notice it throughout the day. In fact, it’s even comfortable enough to make wearing a thong to bed incredibly comfortable as well.

Comfort Tips for Wearing Thong Underwear

First of all, it’s important to choose a well respected brand. I’d tried those cheap noname brands from Amazon and have never found them to be comfortable. Their sizing is almost always off, the fit can be inconsistent, the fabric is often poor quality, and they often chafe.

When wearing styles from major well known brands, the material is almost always much higher quality. I like having choices between soft cotton thongs, micro-modal synthetic fibers, and other options as switching between them from day to day keeps things interesting and more comfortable. Generally, brands like Jockey, Jack Adams, Body Aware, and others use better quality fabric which feels smoother against the skin. You’ll need to experiment with different fabrics to find which ones feel best against your skin and which ones you prefer.

As mentioned earlier, I always size up whenever I’m in doubt. Many brands would steer me toward their size medium based on my height and waist measurements, but even with these, I always find that sizing up to a large is far more comfortable. Unfortunately, this part of getting the fit right may require some trial and error, but once you figure out what works, it’s usually fairly consistent and you can usually use your instincts to help determine if a potential thong will fit properly and if so, which size will do the trick.

How to Wear a Thong Comfortably

When putting on your new thong, resist the urge to pull it up high and/or tight. Just pull it on, adjust your front package for comfort, and simply let the fabric in the rear slide gently between your butt cheeks. If the thong fits properly, the back part will gently settle into place with minimal adjustment and will sit loosely in a manner which is barely noticeable once you get used to it.

Initially, you may feel self-conscious and may even feel as though you have a wedgie, but these sensations are short-lived once you adjust. Once you get used to wearing minimal underwear, wearing a thong will feel extremely natural, freeing, and supportive. It also feels incredibly sexy, especially while knowing that you’re wearing a thong under your clothing while knowing that nobody around you is aware. My wife and I love knowing that it’s our little secret. She loves knowing that I’m wearing a thong and will enjoy undressing me with her eyes, wondering secretly which thong I’m wearing on any given day. I love knowing that she’s thinking about me in my thong, and I love slowly undressing in front of her each evening until I reveal my thong underwear. Even if it doesn’t lead to an intimate physical moment, it’s a fun way to build the sexual tension between us, especially when she walks over so she can enjoy caressing my butt.

Summary

I’d encourage anyone to give men’s thong underwear a try based solely on comfort. Try a few different thongs out before making a decision either way, and try it for a long enough period of time to let yourself adjust to the sensation of wearing it. Even if men’s thongs don’t become your daily wear underwear of choice, they can be a fun and comfortable option whether it’s for the gym, the bedroom, or just for those moments when you want a bit more freedom of movement.
